We are engaged and talking about moving somewhere exotic. I proposed the obvious (if you know me)…Africa or France. Our 5th grade daughter would easily adjust. She speaks fluent French, having been in a French immersion school since pre-K, and she is a bit of a dare devil like her soon-to-be stepdad. But, he isn’t up for l’Afrique or le métropole. He has his sights set on the Caribbean where he can scuba dive, fish and go boating. So, we planned a destination wedding to the islands and researched possible options for a family relocation. Our shortlist includes: Tortola, BVI; St. John or St. Thomas, USVI; and St. Martin or Guadeloupe, French overseas territories. There is no doubt that he prefers an anglophone island having no French in his repertoire. But, we remain open minded.
